Richie Carter grew up just outside the Flathead Valley of Northwest Montana where he currently resides. In 2012, Richie obtained his BFA in Painting from The University of Montana. He was fortunate enough to study for one year in northern France and later spent a semester in Venice Italy. Although Montana is his home base, traveling to different parts of the world is essential to his work. Having spent extensive time in Europe, there is a strong impression of tradition on his work. Richie has always been drawn to this long history of painting and sculpture and he hopes to spend part of his time each year abroad.
